Original Antique Prints & Engravings
This collection features original antique prints - hand-pulled engravings, etchings, and early printed works dating primarily from the 17th and 18th centuries. Produced long before modern reproduction, each piece was printed from a metal plate onto laid paper using pressure, ink, and human judgement, long before modern reproduction or photographic processes.
The prints in this collection include historical prints, engravings, architectural plates, allegorical and illustrative works, and documentary images. Ink, pressure, and paper were trusted to preserve information, technique, and observation. Plate impressions, chain lines, irregular margins, and period trimming are expected and preserved. Condition is honest and is described transparently; folds, handling marks, and age-related wear are regarded as part of each print's history rather than defects to be erased.
No items in this collections are modern reproductions, facsimiles, or artificially aged copies. All prints are offered unframed and sold as original paper artifacts, with individual listings documenting medium, approximate date, and condition.
